Higher Ground Collective Joins Global Movement as Certified B Corporation

PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Toronto, ON – July 22, 2025 – Higher Ground Collective (HGC) is proud to announce its certification as a B Corporation, joining a distinguished global network of over 7,800 B Corps across 92 countries and 161 industries, committed to using business as a force for good.  This significant achievement marks a turning point in the agency's growth and transformation and reaffirms HGC's longstanding goal to balance people, purpose, profit, and performance.

With an overall impact score of 97.2, HGC has met the highest verified standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. It is a true reflection of the impact the agency has with its partners, clients, the communities it is a part of, and how they run their business. B Corp Certification is reaffirmation of the Collective’s core values and a declaration that HGC is a force for social change.

We are deeply honoured to join the B Corp movement and be part of the global shift towards businesses that care. I see it as a dispatch to all enterprises: strategy can be a sacred act that shapes the world with integrity, inventiveness, and intention. And there has never been a more urgent time to act. We must all lead with care and courage, letting our values guide our approach. A different kind of business is feasible if you strive for the greatest standards of social and environmental performance: one that heals, uplifts, and reimagines what success can mean for people and planet.” - Bonnie Lester, Founder & CEO, Higher Ground Collective

Companies with B Corp Certification undergo rigorous evaluation based on their impact across key areas including governance, employees, community engagement, customer stewardship and impact and environmental footprint.  The evaluation provides an actionable roadmap for B Corps to improve performance and raise the bar for corporate responsibility. HGC performed particularly well in the areas of community engagement and customer stewardship and is already hard a work with a new strategic plan to improve performance in each area to ensure long-term impact.

This certification affirms the agency’s leadership in impact-driven strategy and its dedication to reshaping business as a tool for justice, equity, and regeneration. It is a true reflection of the impact HGC has had on the clients they work with, the communities they are part of, and how they run their business.

“The HGC team is truly excited and proud to join this global community of purpose-led businesses, sustainability innovators and charities who embody the same shared values.  We built our business based on the power of strategic partnership to drive meaningful change. Whether with non-profits, businesses, governments, or foundations, we have always worked to actively contribute to a more inclusive, equitable and regenerative economy turning that vision into impact.  We look forward to working together with like-minded enterprises to solve social issues intrinsic to who they are, and building business as a force for good.” - Cynthia Benedek, Partner & Creative Director, Higher Ground Collective

We imagined it. We built it. We live it. We care for it. Now, we are a Certified B Corp — and this is just the beginning. We are proudly Higher Ground — to the power of B.
